FL114: Senior Research Associate, Discovery Biology

About the Role:
FL114, Inc. is seeking an outstanding Senior Research Associate to join our Discovery Biology team. We’re looking for a versatile in vitro biologist to assist in the development and advancement of our epigenetic editing programs, from early discovery research to preclinical development and beyond. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, adaptive, and highly motivated individual with a passion for bringing novel medicines to patients. Applicants should be comfortable working on a fast-paced, cross-functional scientific team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently design, execute, and analyze in vitro biology experiments for target validation and evaluation of epigenetic controllers
- Perform routine and specialized cell culture procedures, including the maintenance and handling of primary human/mouse cells and established cell lines
- Conduct downstream analytical techniques on cell and tissue samples including qPCR, western blot and ELISA.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records of experimental design, protocols, raw data, and analyzed results.
- Assist in management of day-to-day laboratory operations including maintenance of equipment, as well as reagent tracking, ordering, and receiving
Required Skills:
- Well-versed in mammalian cell culture with extensive experience using primary cell cultures across different therapeutic areas. Experience with stem cell differentiation protocols a plus
- Proficiency in biochemical and molecular techniques including (but not limited to) DNA/RNA/protein isolation, qPCR, gene silencing techniques (siRNA/CRISPR/TALEN), immunoassays (ELISA/Luminex), flow cytometry and western blot
- Adaptive and detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizations skills
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across interdisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Cell or Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with 3+ years of experience. Industry experience preferred.
