We’re looking for an experienced operator with entrepreneurial ambitions to lead a new venture as the founding technical lead with our investment and the full backing of Founders Factory.

Why is insurance the way it is? What if you could re-imagine how insurance works? How it is purchased, priced, packaged and provided. With AI shifting from theoretical to probable, we believe it's the right time to build an AI-first insurance stack from the ground up. for insurance to start again.

By being AI-first we believe insurance can be more personalised, affordable and delightful for customers. We’re looking to build a startup that leverages AI to redesign insurance, developing the technology components required to rapidly launch new insurance products, deploy new insurance lines and enter new markets as a configuration setting and potentially becoming the platform on which a new generation of MGAs are built.

We’re offering a rare opportunity to co-found this company with the backing of Founders Factory and Aviva. As Founder & CTO, you will lead the design, architecture and technical development of this next-gen insurtech platform, shaping the future of the industry from the ground up.

What we’re looking for

• Founder mentality – You’re a technical entrepreneur or product-minded engineering leader who thrives in zero-to-one environments
• Deep tech expertise – Strong technical background (e.g., software engineering, AI/ML, system architecture), with the ability to build and scale complex systems
• AI-native – You're immersed in the current wave of AI (LLMs, agentic systems, short & long-term retrieval, fine-tuning) and understand its potential and limitations
• Strong product intuition – You care deeply about solving real customer problems and building seamless, magical user experiences
• Team builder – Proven ability to attract top-tier talent, investors, and collaborators
• Ambitious & visionary – You're not looking to build the next incrementally better tool. You're here to rewire the entire category.

Desirable

• Experience building an early-stage startup or founding team, especially in an AI-powered business
• Background in complex third-party integrations across legacy and modern APIs
• Experience navigating regulated industries (insurance, finance, health)
• A bias towards modern technologies with high adoption rates, DevOps and API-first systems
• Experience building agentic systems using short & long-term retrieval mechanisms, MCP, orchestrated handover and varying models for impact
• Evidence of strong opinions, loosely held – balancing conviction with adaptability
