As a founding member of our engineering team, you’ll have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our product while working in a collaborative, high-impact environment. Your work will directly contribute to the development of an AI-native home management platform that will revolutionize how people manage and interact with their homes.
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Founding Engineer / Head of Engineering with expertise in AI Engineering to lead our technical efforts. You’ll be responsible for architecting and implementing cutting-edge AI workflows and agents, shaping our technical direction, and building systems that power intelligent, responsive product experiences.
As our most senior AI engineer, you’ll work alongside the Product team to design new AI features from scratch and will lead a small but high-performing team of engineers. You’ll play a key role in translating frontier AI developments into real-world capabilities, owning everything from evaluation harnesses to agent orchestration to observability tooling.
This is a technical leadership role—ideal for someone who enjoys building as much as guiding. You’ll set the engineering standard across the team and will be the go-to person for AI Engineering best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years experience in Software Engineering, Data Science, etc. with at least 1 year experience in AI Engineering
- Proven experience with AI engineering, including building evals, prompt engineering, trace annotation, etc.
- Hands-on experience building AI agents and/or using agent frameworks like LangChain’s LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Microsoft’s AutoGen, etc.
- Strong familiarity with AI observability platforms such as LangSmith, LangFuse or similar tools
- Senior-level proficiency in Python, with experience using type annotations and tools like mypy, Ruff, etc.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Solid knowledge of SQL databases such as Postgres or MySQL
- Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests
- Stay at the forefront of AI and machine learning advancements, deep learning models, agent tooling, and emerging research to identify new techniques to enhance our products
Bonus Qualifications, But Not Deal Breakers
- Ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders and articulate complex AI concepts clearly
- Comfortable hands on coding to managing small engineering teams to presenting to executives and investors
- Mentorship: As a founding engineer, help shape the engineering culture, mentoring junior team members and establishing best practices
- Background in consumer and/or fintech
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment

- Travel to team offsites at least once per quarter, but up to once per month
- Remote within the US
