Role Summary

The Senior Venture Analyst is responsible for identifying, validating, and sizing venture opportunities across our venture studio. This role complements our User Experience Researcher by focusing on market, competitive, commercial, and financial diligence. You will conduct expert interviews, build robust market models, evaluate competitive landscapes, and synthesize evidence into clear go/no-go recommendations for the leadership team.

What You’ll Own

1. Market Intelligence & Opportunity Sizing

  • Build robust TAM/SAM/SOM models with clear, defensible assumptions.

  • Conduct demand-side discovery through expert interviews, desk research, and data analysis.

  • Evaluate macro trends and industry dynamics to surface new venture spaces worth exploring.

  • Translate ambiguous opportunity spaces into structured, quantifiable business cases.

2. Competitive & Commercial Analysis

  • Map competitor ecosystems and deeply analyze business models, pricing, value propositions, strengths/weaknesses.

  • Assess commercial viability: customer willingness-to-pay, channel dynamics, barriers to entry, switching costs, and competitive moats.

  • Benchmark competitor operational models, unit economics, and growth trajectories when data is available.

3. Financial Modeling & Unit Economics

  • Build bottom-up and top-down financial models to evaluate venture potential.

  • Analyze unit economics, margin structures, customer acquisition & retention levers.

  • Construct break-even, CLTV/CAC, and operational cost models suitable for venture incubation.

  • Stress-test assumptions with sensitivity analyses and scenario modeling.

4. Research & Evidence Development

  • Lead expert interviews with operators, buyers, industry specialists, and partners to obtain directional insights and validation.

  • Triangulate evidence from primary and secondary sources to create a clear point of view.

  • Distill research into crisp narratives and “what matters” synthesis for leadership.

5. Venture Evaluation & Leadership Artifacts

  • Produce clear go/no-go memos, decision decks, and opportunity briefs that outline:

    • Problem framing

    • Market sizing & segmentation

    • Competitive dynamics

    • Financial assumptions & modeled outcomes

    • Risks and unknowns requiring further testing

  • Present findings to leadership in a concise, compelling format that drives decisions.

What You Bring

  • 3–6+ years in management consulting, venture building, investment research, corporate strategy, market intelligence, or related analytical roles.

  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; able to build models from scratch.

  • Strong financial acumen. Formal finance education is a plus.

  • Experience conducting expert interviews and synthesizing qualitative insights.

  • Strong ability to translate research into sharp, actionable insights for executives.

  • Excellent slide-building and presentation skills.

  • Comfortable working in ambiguous spaces and structuring problems from zero.

  • Familiarity with venture studios, startups, or early-stage venture evaluation a plus.
